Because our vision for the future is making a difference for the animals and people of our communities, our long-term success is dependent upon education. It is often the children that drive progress and determine the future in our world.
With that in mind, MVAS believes strongly in working relationships with schools, scout groups, clubs, civic groups, community organizations and anyone else willing to help us reach out to people - and especially young people - throughout Lake County.
MVAS has opportunities for children and other groups to visit our facility, witness our life-saving work, listen to presentations, be involved in our mission, learn about animals and get to meet some of our critters! We are also willing to make an off-site visit to your classroom, organization or event and discuss our work. We might even be able to visit with a cute animal in tow!
Topics of our education program are flexible and can include (but are not limited to) animal care, humane treatment, animal shelter operations, mission, vision and policies, animal-related community issues, animal health, cat/dog behavior, biology and characteristics, etc. Program topics and presentation can be adapted to any age group.
