Marie Snavely was born in Santa Maria, CA and raised in Guadalupe, CA. She is married, with two grown boys. Her husband, Merlyn, is a retired teacher. Marie worked for the General Telephone Company in California for 25 years before moving to Montana in 1992 after Merlyn retired.
Not long after arriving in Lake County, Marie began volunteering with the animal shelter, where Merlyn served as the Board President. After once again spending several years in California caring for her ailing mother, Marie returned to Montana and in 2004 began volunteering at the Seconds2Go thrift store, which supports the shelter. Marie took over as the Thrift Store manager in 2008 and has continued in that capacity ever since. She enjoys the work and feels fortunate to have such loyal customers and donors who have made the store such a great success!
Over the years, Marie herself has also rescued many cats and dogs. She has had as many as 15 cats at one time, but has only 11 now!
