Our staff of eight full time and part time employees works hard every day because they love what they do and want to make a difference for people and animals in our midst.

It is often a thankless job, but the fulfillment that comes from saving lives, completing families, enabling happy reunions and giving animals love is irreplaceable!

If you would like to join our team, feel free to stop by, say hello and drop off a resume.  We might contact you when needs arise!

This is who we are:

RAEVA, Shelter Manager

I was born in Casper, Wyoming.  I moved to Montana when I was ten years old and attended school in Charlo, Montana.  As a teenager I volunteered at the Mission Valley Animal Shelter and have always wanted to be part of the team here.  Now I am, and I am extremely happy to be part of this awesome organization.  I love animals, and I am proud to play a small part in helping all these deserving critters find their forever homes.

DREW, Feline Specialist

Drew began working in animal care at 15 years old as a volunteer for The Nature Conservancy in Connicticut.

After moving to Minnesota, he found work with a company providing humane residential wildlife remove for

for people in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.  He started at MVAS in June 2011 after moving to Montana to pursue a slightly quieter life near family, and has been with us ever since.

LESLIE, Office Assistant

As a member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, the Mission Valley is where I call home.  Together my husband and I are raising three beautiful children and three adopted fur babies.  Working at MVAS and helping our four-legged friends is the most rewarding job I've ever had!

KALISTA, Dog Care Attendant

Kalista was born in Oregon, but has lived in the Mission valley pretty much her whole life, She graduated from Charlo High School. She has always loved animals, and everyone who knows her knows that about her.

She has two dogs and a cat that she spoils like crazy! Her job as a Dog Care Attendant is amazing and rewarding because she spends all day with dogs. She is a very proud member of our Mission Valley Animal Shelter team.

TIARA, Media Coordinator

Tiara was raised on the Flathead Indian Reservation where she enjoys loving her animals, taking advantage of our amazing area and being outdoors hunting, camping, hiking and fishing.

"I'll never be living my best life without my fur babies!"

She considers herself extremely lucky to get to share her passions for the outdoors and animals with her two sons.

MARANDA, Weekend Dog Caregiver

Maranda is the first in her family to be born and raised in Montana. She graduated from Arlee High School, where she then went on to earn an Associates degree in Business management from Salish Kootenai College. From there she went on to work as a front desk assistant for awhile before she became a dog trainer at Petco. While navigating her way through all the different social environments, she realized she likes to make people laugh and almost always uses sarcasm and jokes when talking to people. During her life she has had a mix of all kinds of animals beside her. She currently has 4 Dogs she calls her Minis. She always thought of animals as family but these 4 are her babies.
