Our staff of eight full-time and part-time employees work hard every day because they love what they do and want to make a difference for people and animals in our midst.

It is often a thankless job, but the fulfillment that comes from saving lives, completing families, enabling happy reunions and giving animals love is irreplaceable!

If you would like to join our team, feel free to stop by, say hello and drop off a resume.  We might contact you when needs arise!

This is who we are:

RAEVA, Shelter Manager

Raeva was born in Casper, Wyoming. As a teenager she volunteered at the Mission Valley Animal Shelter and had always wanted to be part of the team here. Now that she is, Raeva is very proud to play a small part in helping all these deserving critters find their forever homes.

DREW, Cat Caregiver

Drew began working in animal care at 15 years old as a volunteer for the Nature Conservancy in Connecticut. After moving to Minnesota, he found work with a company providing humane residential wildlife removal in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. He started at MVAS in June 2011 after moving to Montana to pursue a slightly quieter life near family and has been with us ever since.

LESLIE, Office Assistant

Leslie is a member of the Confederated Salish Kootenai Tribes, so the Mission Valley is where she calls home. Together, her husband and herself are raising three beautiful children and three adopted fur babies. Working at MVAS and helping our four-legged friends is the most rewarding job Leslie has ever had!

KALISTA, Media Coordinator

Being born in Oregon, Kalista only lived there for a very short time before her family moved back to Montana. And as thankful as she is to be here, she is even more thankful to be a part of Mission Valley Animal Shelter. Kalista has loved animals of all types since she was little. Her dream came true the moment she became a member of the MVAS team.  She has always had pets of her own that she spoils like her own kids, so why not do the same for the shelter animals before they are able to go to their forever homes!

PAIJE, Weekday Dog Caregiver

Paije was born and raised in Lake County. She is a former veterinary assistant and attended dog training school in Cleveland Ohio at the top of her class. Paije has been fostering dogs from the valley for almost three years. Her 2 year old son and 5 fur babies are her whole life. She is now a proud member of the Mission Valley Animal Shelter team and loves all animals that come through our doors.

MARANDA, Weekend Dog Caregiver

Maranda is the first in her family to be born and raised in Montana. She graduated from Arlee High School, where she then went on to earn an Associates degree in Business Management from SKC. From there she went on to work as a from desk assistant for awhile before she became a dog trainer at Petco. While navigating her way through all the different social environments, she realized she likes to make people laugh and almost always uses sarcasm and jokes when talking to people. During her life she has had a mix of all kinds of animals beside her. She currently has four dogs she calls her Minis. She always thought of animals as family but these four are her babies.
